Introducing our new Sixth Form Student Leadership Team – a group of passionate and driven students who are eager to make a real impact on school life. Selected through a rigorous application process and now in post, the new team has begun working together to shape their priorities for the year ahead. Here, they introduce themselves and share what they hope to achieve in their roles…
“We applied for our positions by writing page-long applications, stating what we could bring to our roles. We then moved on to a thorough interview process and were asked to prepare a 3 to 5 minute speech. For Head Student applications, a PowerPoint presentation was also an important part of the process. After we presented our speeches, we were asked a round of questions by an interview panel consisting of the previous Head Students, Headteacher Dr Howling, and Director of Sixth form Ms Bubb. The Leadership Team was then finalised and we were officially appointed to our roles. It was an exciting moment for all of us – not only were we proud of our achievement, but we were also aware of the responsibility we were taking on!“
“From this point forward, we began discussing how we could work together effectively and what we wanted to prioritise as a team over the coming academic year. We are committed to organising a range of events throughout the year – from charity fundraisers and assemblies to open evenings and school-wide campaigns. As part of our leadership, we also want to mentor younger students, particularly the incoming year 12s who will soon join the Sixth Form, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported from the very beginning.“
Meet the team…
Millie – Head Student: Transition to Co-education and Kingsley Values
“My role as Head Student is focused on ensuring a smooth and supportive transition to co-education, while upholding the Kingsley values that make our school community so special. I’ll be working with both the Deputy Head of Pastoral and the Headteacher to guide and mentor new students, particularly boys, as they settle into life at Kingsley. I aim to help them feel included, confident and part of the wider school ethos from day one. I’ll also be supporting lunchtime clubs, mentoring younger students and working closely with the Head of Year 7 to help prepare for events like the Year 6 to 7 Information Evening. It’s important to me that we create a welcoming and respectful culture where all students, regardless of background or gender, feel able to contribute and grow.”
Larissa – Head Student: Wellbeing and Kingsley Community
“As Head Student responsible for wellbeing and the wider Kingsley community, I’m committed to creating an environment where every student feels supported, valued and connected. Working closely with the Deputy Head of Pastoral and Director of Sport, I’ll be helping to lead initiatives that promote physical and mental health across all year groups. This includes running lunchtime clubs, organising pastoral events and helping across the whole school with wellbeing and mental health initiatives. I believe that a strong sense of community is the key to student happiness and success and I look forward to enhancing our shared culture through kindness, inclusion and collaboration.“
Felicity – Head Student: Academic Achievement and Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
“As Head Student with a focus on academic achievement, I’m passionate about helping students unlock their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom. This year, I’ll be working closely with the Deputy Head of Academic to support the academic culture of the school and help lead initiatives that enhance learning opportunities for everyone. One of my key aims is to promote and expand enrichment opportunities beyond lessons. I’ll also be supporting younger students with study skills and revision techniques and representing the school at key academic events such as the Year 5 Taster Morning and Year 6 Entrance Examination Day. I believe that academic success is about more than just grades; it’s about growth, confidence and curiosity and I look forward to helping others find their own paths to success.“
Florence – Deputy Head Student: Charity and Events
“As Deputy Head Student with a focus on charity and events, I’m excited to help bring the school community together through purposeful and memorable experiences. I’ll be working closely with the Marketing and Events teams to support key occasions, including helping to organise the Rose Ball – one of our biggest events of the year. My role also involves leading on Sixth Form charity events and lunchtime fundraising activities, with a focus on raising both awareness of and support for causes that matter to our student body. Whether it’s through open mornings, themed weeks or social events, I hope to create moments that reflect our school’s values and allow students to feel proud of the impact we can make together.”
Martha – Deputy Head Student: Inclusion and Transition to Senior School
“My role as Deputy Head Student focuses on two key areas: ensuring a smooth transition into Senior School and promoting inclusion across all student groups. I’ll be working alongside the Assistant Head, SENDCO and Safeguarding Team to support students with neurodiversity, as well as collaborating with the Year 6 and 7 teams to help new pupils settle in confidently. A major part of my role is also working closely with the Equality, Diversity and inclusion (EDI) Lead to help raise awareness of inclusion across the school. This involves leading on lunchtime activities, organising assemblies and creating safe spaces for open conversation. I’m passionate about making sure that every student feels seen, supported and empowered during their time at Kingsley.”

As the new Sixth Form Student Leadership Team, we’re incredibly proud to step into these roles and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the life of the school. Each of us brings different strengths, passions and perspectives – but we are united by a shared commitment to making a positive impact. Whether it’s through academic support, community events, promoting wellbeing or championing inclusion, we aim to lead with purpose and represent the voice of the student body. We’re particularly excited to welcome the new Year 12 cohort into the Sixth Form and look forward to working together to build on the foundations laid by those before us. With a strong sense of teamwork and a clear vision for the year ahead, we hope to leave a lasting legacy of leadership, collaboration and school spirit.
